Byron McNally is a film producer and Co-founder of Script Compass, a multi-award-winning Development House based in Bloomsbury, London. Last year, Script Compass won the Best London Creative Start-Up at the UK Start-Up Awards.

For over a decade, Byron has served as a producer, executive producer, and development producer for over forty short films. Many of these films have received nominations at major festivals worldwide, including BAFTA, Sundance, London Film Festival, Slamdance, SXSW, and Hong Kong International Film Festival.

The shorts he has worked on have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds, several fully funded by the BFI.

Currently, Byron is collaborating with Andy Paterson, known for producing films such as The Girl with the Pearl Earring (2003) and The Railway Man (2013). Together, they are co-producing a feature film adaptation of Mark Haddon’s notable short story, Wodwo.

In addition, Byron is a Co-producer for a behind-the-scenes documentary focused on Michael Mann’s feature film, Enzo Ferrari. The documentary, featuring an A-list cast including Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz, is in post-production. He is also producing another feature-length documentary focusing on cultural diplomacy, which recently completed filming between Mongolia, London, and New York.

Outside the traditional cinema sphere, Byron produced the video game Unknown Number, which swept the NYX Game Awards last year, claiming titles for Best Indie Game, Best Storytelling, Best Innovation, and Best Performance. Metro described it as “An enticing puzzle adventure that tells a great story… a truly impressive feat for a tiny indie studio“.
