John Hilary Shepherd is a writer and the Vice President of Development for New Republic Pictures, the film financier founded by Academy Award-nominated producer Brian Oliver.  As the former head of development at Brian Oliver’s Cross Creek Pictures, John oversaw a slate of a dozen film releases that collectively grossed $1.2 billion at the theatrical box-office and were nominated for 12 Academy Awards, including the Oscar-winning Black Swan and Hacksaw Ridge, along with box-office hits The Woman in Black, The Ides of March, Rush, Black Mass, and Everest.  As a writer, John was nominated for the Writers Guild Award for his work on the Showtime TV series Nurse Jackie.  He has an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute.
