John started his career at the BBC working as an assistant editor on Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley’s People adapted by Arthur Hopcraft; then as an editor on Oranges are not the only fruit by Jeanette Winterson and Al Hunter’s The Firm directed by Alan Clarke.
As a director he has worked on a range of award winning shows such as ‘Prime Suspect 2‘ (Allan Cubitt), Clocking Off (Paul Abbott), Rebel Heart (Ronan Bennett), Bodies (Jed Mercurio), In Plain Sight (Nick Stevens), Line of Duty (Jed Mercurio) and is currently in post production on the finale of Troy-Fall of a City (David Farr).
He has been nominated for a Bafta three times and has won directing awards for Rebel Heart and Bodies.
