Ealing Studios, Eight writers, Bob and Endless coffee…
We have all done it. Great idea. Check. Great theme. Check. Great characters. Check. Great moments you can’t wait to write. Check.
You dive in and around page fifty, uh-oh!
Suddenly the cracks start to show, blind alleys present themselves, plot holes loom, characters start to behave illogically… And it all started out so well.
This is why plotting out your story is SO vital.
It’s also important to interrogate your story during this phase to ensure you are ‘on genre’, commercial enough to actually GET PRODUCED, and tight enough in plot for audiences to get excited.
Join LSF stalwart Bob Schultz for a challenging and highly invigorating weekend incubating plots, characters, and themes.
When: August 10th
Where: Ealing Studios
How Much: £229
Working together, you will develop your ideas into a vibrant, living outlines, ready for you to turn it into a first draft THAT WORKS. And because the foundation and mechanics are solid, it will be much easier to write.
With this prep, you will hit that five pages a day goal every writer sets, and have a first draft in a month. Now THAT is an outcome.
You should bring at least FIVE ideas to work through.
You will emerge with a tight, structured plan to bring your screenplays to life with…
• A fully-developed outline of your story, ready to write.
• Inventive solutions to story weaknesses.
• Full arcs for character, story, and theme.
• Several other ideas worked into beat sheets ready to expand.
With the help of Bob, you will bridge that gap between idea and screenplay and bond with seven other writers (who will continue the journey with you as an informal writers and support group over WhatsApp).
It’s one intensive weekend that will save you months of dead ends and blind alleys.
