Script Lab 1: Writing ACTION features with

Do you love action? Do you dream of explosions, gun fights, and car chases with huge stars trying to kill each other? Do you have a completed action feature script you need to take to the next level?  Then this Lab is for you!

In this Lab, six selected screenwriters will get unique, small-group mentoring with Hollywood legend Jeb Stuart – the man behind such action greats as Die Hard and The Fugitive.

Successful applicants will join Jeb for this intense, lock-in lab at the festival, and, through workshopping and collaboration, will take their work to the next level.

The aim of this lab will be to focus on what is and what isn’t working in your script, how you can ramp up the action, how to write action clearly and concisely whilst evoking a thrill in the reader, and helping you to write both creative and exciting scripts.

This is a unique opportunity to meet and get mentored by a Hollywood writer who’s been in the trenches and seen success many times over.

If you are selected you will also be expected to read and feedback on ALL six projects in this lab – it will be a totally immersive and collaborative experience for all participants.

There will also be an online ‘meet-up’ before the festival so that we can begin work before the lab and hopefully continue it beyond the LSF. We want the group to bond and offer a continued support network.

To be considered for this lab, you will need to submit:

  • The synopsis for a fully developed and completed action feature script.
  • The accompanying first ten of your script.
  • 500 words on why you need to be a part of this lab.
  • Your writers CV.

Good luck!
