Read the script (we send it to you), watch the film, meet the team at the LSF.

Voted Best British Newcomer at the 2013 BFI London Film Festival, ‘Starred Up’ Screenwriter Jonathan Asser joins us for a very special Script to Screen session at this years LSF.

The film stars Jack O’Connell who gives a powerhouse performance as ‘Eric’ a troubled and violent teenager transferred to an adult prison where he has to fend for himself among hardened cons. Described by Empire as ‘A brutal, immersive prison survival story with a breakout performance by British actor Jack O’Connell’; screenwriter Jonathan drew on his own experiences working with violent offenders in HMP Wandsworth.

For this session, Jonathan has shared with us the shooting script which we will share with you to read ahead of the session, we also recommend that you watch the movie (released on DVD on August 4th) and then join Jonathan in the session where we will deconstruct the journey of the project from idea, script, shoot and edit all the way through to final distribution.

LSF is thrilled to bring you this session centered around one of the most hard hitting, punch packing, authentic, moving and slightly terrifying British films we’ve seen in a long time!
