Wordpress, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, Quora, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Pinterest and all their ilk might feel like procrastination, but they’re crucial in today’s market in getting a writer noticed.
A good online presence is no longer an optional “extra”, they are DEMANDED by agents, producers and publishers. Bringing the WRONG kind of attention to yourself online – or worse, shying away from online engagement altogether – really CAN mean the difference between getting your work out there … or sinking into obscurity.
But with so many writers out there – how do you bring the RIGHT attention to your work and yourself? How to create an audience? How do you engage with your friends and followers? What do you get out of social media – in the short term and long term? How best to invest your time?
These are some of the questions that will be considered by Comedy writer and online phenomenon Paul Basset-Davies, Writer/Director Heather Taylor and digital expert Tracy Thomas.
