Gemma is an up and coming screenwriter from East London and screenwriting module leader at Central Film School. Gemma was a recipient of Neal Street Production’s Screenwriting Bursary supporting and training emerging Black, Asian and ethnic minority screenwriters.

Gemma graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London, in 2018 with a First Class degree in Film, Television and Digital Production, specialising in screenwriting and is currently studying a Masters in Film Studies at Birkbeck University. Her scripts have been shortlisted for the Thousand Films and BBC Script Room Drama competitions.

Her short-form script was among the top 8% for the BBC InterConnected contest in 2020. Gemma’s episode of CBBC’s The Dumping Ground ‘Sister to Sister’ aired in May 2023. Along with writing heartfelt character-led comedy and drama, Gemma is a freelance lecturer and pursuing stand-up comedy.
