An award-winning short film Director, Jane has been developing her first feature, a black comedy called BAGGAGE, through the BFI-funded Northern Film & Media scheme, RISE.

In 2014 she completed the inaugural Bird’s Eye View scheme, Fillmonomics. Her short film, A CAKE FOR MABEL, premiered at Palm Springs ShortsFest in 2013. The London Film Review awarded it 5 stars and deemed it one of the top ten shorts of 2013. It won Best Director and Best Performance at the Thurrock International Film Festival in 2014 and distribution rights were bought by Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. THE OPTICIAN (2008), screened at 24 festivals, including Austin, LA Shortsfest, Bermuda and Newport Beach. It won Best International Short at Okanagan Film Festival, Canada and Best Comedy Short at Eugene Film Festival, Oregon. DISCONNECTED screened at 19 international film festivals and was broadcast on BBC2’s ‘Homegrown Hollywood’ season in 2005 and 2006.

She has also written and directed for the stage, where THE RAPE OF LUCRECE received four stars in the Scotsman at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1997, where it was described as “sensitive, imaginative and intelligent” and noted for its “stunning visual effects”.
