Tess has been working in the film and television industry for over 10 years. Her latest screenplay, the romantic comedy Man Up, made the 2011 Brit List and has been picked up by Big Talk Pictures/Studio Canal. It’s being fast-tracked for an Autumn 2012 shoot, and is currently out to directors. Co-writing with David Allison, Tess just finished writing teen comedy Charlie Ferrari. Next up is Is This It?, a sitcom pilot for Big Talk/Sky.

Tess won the Lloyds Bank/Channel Four Film Challenge for her short film Beer Goggles, broadcast on Channel 4 and directed by David Mackenzie, and in 2008 she was chosen for the BFI/Skillset Think Shoot Distribute Scheme for emerging talent in the British Film Industry. She has also previously written for Hollyoaks and My Family, and worked extensively as a script editor with Seinfeld writer Tom Leopold.

Tess also lectures on comedy writing (for the Arvon Foundation and Royal Holloway University) and has worked across various production roles in the film industry, most recently as co-producer on the award winning short, Rise Of The Appliances, and as assistant producer on the feature film Resistance (both for Big Rich Films).

Last, and by no means least, she is a regular contributor on Five Live, Radio 2 and 6 Music, where she can be found talking very quickly about film and television in general.

Tess is represented in the US by Melissa Myers and Sarah Self at WME.
