with Stephen Volk
Need to take your dark horror or paranormal drama/thriller to the next level? Then Stephen Volk is the man to show you exactly how to do it. Stephen is a BAFTA-winning writer best known for the controversial 1992 BBCTV “Hallowe’en hoax” Ghostwatch and the acclaimed ITV drama series Afterlife starring Lesley Sharp and Andrew Lincoln.
In this intensive LAB Stephen will workshop your project, working alongside 5 of your Screenwriting peers, to improve, enhance and elevate your script to even greater levels. With five new pairs of fresh eyes on your work, plus a world class, master of dark horror dishing out feedback, advice, experience and mentorship throughout, you’re guaranteed to walk out of this LAB with a stronger script and renewed confidence in yourself and your projects.
If you are selected, you will be expected to read and provide feedback on ALL six projects in this lab. It will be an immersive experience for all participants.
There will also be an online ‘meet-up’ before the festival to get a jump on the story analysis process. Hopefully the bond you forge through the entire lab experience will continue beyond the Festival.
To be considered for this lab, you will need to submit (documents in PDF format only):
- Synopsis of your project.
- The first 10 pages of your script.
- 500 words on why you need to be a part of this lab.
